Mitch Haniger Could Return On Friday
2 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger (ankle) could be ready to return from the 60-day injured list as early as this Friday, according to general manager Jerry Dipoto. Haniger went 1-for-2 with a home run, three RBI, a run scored and two walks in his latest minor league rehab appearance for Triple-A Tacoma on Sunday. The 31-year-old looks to be recovering nicely from a Grade 2 right ankle sprain that has kept him on the sidelines since late April. His return would be great news for a Mariners team that just put star rookie Julio Rodriguez (wrist) on the injured list over the weekend. Haniger should see regular playing time in Seattle's outfield once he returns, and he is worth picking up in fantasy leagues if he's available. He was 7-for-35 (.200) with three home runs and seven RBI before his injury in the first month of the season.
