Mitch Haniger Dealing With A Grade 2 High-Ankle Sprain
3 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger (ankle) is dealing with a Grade 2 high-ankle sprain, per manager Scott Servais. He was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday. The 31-year-old initially sustained a high-ankle sprain during Friday's loss to the Miami Marlins. Haniger is facing an extended absence, but the official timeline for his recovery has yet to be announced. Dylan Moore should see an uptick in at-bats while Haniger is sidelined and is a speculative add in deep-league formats. Moore popped 12 homers and swiped 21 bags but slashed an abysmal .181/.276/.334 over 377 plate appearances in 2021. The 29-year-old has dual eligibility and qualifies at third base and outfield in most league formats. Moore is hitting .273 with a homer and two RBI over nine games in 2022.
