Mitch Haniger Homers Saturday
4 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger was given a day off from the field Saturday, instead serving as the designated hitter. This will be a regular occurrence for him, as he makes his return to the lineup after missing almost two years of action. Haniger homered from the leadoff spot Saturday, his first round-tripper in 669 days. He is off to a solid start in 2021, slashing .308/.308/.615, and fantasy managers have to be pleased with the early returns. It is a boon to his value that he will still get at-bats at designated hitter on rest days rather than sitting out those contests.
