6 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger went 2-for-5 with a double in the Mariners 5-2 loss to the Diamondbacks. Haniger now has an eight-game hit streak and has hits in 20 of 24 games played in August. The Mariners playoff hopes are fading but Haniger is surging at the plate right now. Over his last 100 at-bats, the first-time All-Star is slashing .360/.414/.500 with four home runs, 11 doubles and 14 runs batted in. He has three home runs in his last four games played and has an outside shot at 100 runs batted in by season's end. Haniger put up a .635 slugging percentage in September of last season so this hot streak could certainly continue through the rest of the year.--Joey C - RotoBaller
