Mitch Haniger Not In Thursday's Lineup
3 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger (illness) is not in the starting lineup on Thursday against the Tampa Bay Rays. Haniger has been with the team in Tampa this week, but he said on Wednesday that he's not quite 100% and remains on the COVID-19 list. The 31-year-old came down with the virus on April 16 and has been out since, so the Mariners are easing him back into baseball activities. There's a chance that Haniger could be activated from the COVID list and return to Seattle's lineup at some point this weekend. Before getting sick, Haniger was 6-for-34 with three home runs and seven RBI in eight games played. Jesse Winker, Julio Rodriguez and Jarred Kelenic are the M's starting outfielders on Thursday against Rays left-handed opener Jeffrey Springs.
