Mitch Haniger Placed On COVID-19 IL
3 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger (illness) was placed on the COVID-19 injured list after testing positive for the virus on Saturday. The 31-year-old is expected to miss at least the next five days before being cleared to return. He's struggled to start the year, slashing .176/.200/.471 with three home runs, seven RBI, and three runs scored over eight games. Infielder Donovan Walton was recalled in a corresponding move. Dylan Moore should see an uptick in playing time while Haniger is out. Moore is a speculative add in deep-league formats after hitting 12 homers and swiping 21 bags over 126 games in 2021.
