Mitch Haniger Returns To Game Action
4 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger (back, groin) made his long-awaited return to the baseball diamond on Sunday, picking up one hit in two at-bats. It's been a difficult road back for Haniger, who fouled off a Justin Verlander pitch into his groin in June of 2019, resulting in a ruptured testicle. That injury was just the first in a series of injuries, followed by a torn abductor muscle and then a herniated disc. Back in his 2018 All-Star campaign, Haniger slashed .285/.366/.493, and just this offseason general manager Jerry DiPoto called Haniger the team's best player when healthy. The outfield is looking more crowded by the day in Seattle, but Haniger could be the most fantasy valuable in 2021 if he can return to form.
