Mitch Moreland Absent from Thursday's Lineup
7 years agoBoston Red Sox first baseman Mitch Moreland will be on the bench Thursday when the Red Sox take on the Baltimore Orioles. Moreland has been effective at the plate so far this season with a .319/.398/.606 slash line to go along with six home runs and 21 RBI. Moreland has been starting more frequently throughout the course of May, but due to the Red Sox's depth, he has found himself squeezed out of the lineup on occasion. If Moreland earns an everyday position at any point this year, he will become a must-own option due to the potency of the Boston lineup. As of right now, he should be used as a platoon player in deeper fantasy leagues until he earns a prominent role. Jackie Bradley returns to his center field position with Moreland out, while J.D. Martinez will play at first base.
