5 years agoBoston Red Sox first baseman Mitch Moreland tried his best to keep his team from being eliminated from the playoff race on Friday night, providing all of the Red Sox offense in a 6-4 loss in Tampa Bay. Moreland hit a pair of two-run home runs but the Red Sox fell nevertheless and will now officially miss the playoffs a year after winning the World Series. Moreland now has 17 home runs on the year in 308 plate-appearances and will go up against Tampa Bay and starter Tyler Glasnow on Saturday evening.--Nicklaus Gaut - RotoBaller
