Mitch Moreland Leads Red Sox In Homers
6 years agoBoston Red Sox first baseman Mitch Moreland hit his 11th home run Friday night against the Mariners. It was a three-run shot for Moreland as his power leads the Red Sox near mid-May. Mookie Betts and J.D. Martinez may have something to say about that soon, but for now Moreland is producing what they haven’t. He’s not hitting for average, as it currently sits at .221 but his OPS is at a healthy .874. Moreland is used mainly against righties so he sits on most days the Sox face lefties. However, he’s an excellent power guy to have on your bench and use when he’s in the lineup. When he does face a righty, he’s hitting cleanup. That’s serious RBI opportunities behind Andrew Benintendi, Mookie Betts, and J.D. Martinez. He should be owned in more than 16 percent of Yahoo leagues.
