Mitch Trubisky To Start Second Preseason Game
2 years agoPittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin announced on Thursday that quarterback Mitch Trubisky will start the team's second preseason game on Saturday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. In his first preseason action last week against the Seattle Seahawks, Trubisky completed four of his seven attempts for 63 yards and a touchdown, and he'll continue to work with the first-team offense this weekend. Barring something unforeseen, the 27-year-old is fully expected to open Week 1 as the starter, but how long he remains in the role is the most interesting part as the season unfolds. If Trubisky falters early on, the Steelers could easily turn to Mason Rudolph or rookie first-rounder Kenny Pickett.
