3 years agoMajor League Baseball officially canceled another week's worth of spring training games on Friday. All spring training games in Florida and Arizona have now been canceled until at least March 18. The Players Association turned down the league's best and final offer on Tuesday, and the two sides haven't met since, although a small contingent on both sides got together briefly on Thursday to try and schedule the next negotiation sessions. The two sides are expected to meet again soon, but nothing is official. MLB owners made it sound like the two sides were close to a new collective bargaining agreement late Monday night, but the sides remain far apart on several key economic issues. There's a lot of work to be done, and the first month of the regular season could be in jeopardy.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
