3 years agoMajor League Baseball and the Players Association agreed to a solution for the international draft/qualifying offers for free agents, which was the biggest sticking point in talks for a new collective bargaining agreement on Wednesday. The two sides will now have until July 25 to work on a fair international draft, and if something gets worked out, the qualifying offer for free agents will be removed and an international draft will begin in 2024. This could be the movement needed for a new CBA to be finalized soon, although there are still some small gaps on core economic issues that need to be ironed out. The players union is waiting for a counterproposal from the league on Thursday. Stay tuned.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
