3 years agoThe Major League Baseball players union's recent request on the bonus pool was for $85 million, while the league's offer came in at $25 million. So despite the fact that the two sides had a positive day during 16 hours of negotiating on Monday, they still remain far apart, and things are looking bad for a new collective bargaining agreement to be ironed out by the new deadline on Tuesday to save regular season games in 2022. The players union is saying that the two sides have always been far apart on key economic issues for the new CBA. MLB's last offer to the union on Tuesday has been described as a take-it-or-leave-it deal. If we don't have a new CBA in place by 5 p.m. ET on Tuesday, it's likely that Opening Day won't happen on March 31.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
