Mohamed Sanu Released By Patriots Wednesday
4 years agoNew England Patriots wide receiver Mohamed Sanu was released Wednesday in a surprise move that further thins the wideout group that quarterback Cam Newton will have at his disposal in 2020. The Patriots gave up a second-round Draft selection to acquire Sanu last year, as he appeared in eight games (six starts) and hauled in 26 receptions for 207 yards and one score during his tenure. N'Keal Harry and Damiere Byrd will slot into larger roles alongside Julian Edelman out wide to begin the year, as the New England offense will be relying upon unproven entities out of the gate. Sanu likely has a future with another organization, although it’s difficult to peg his fantasy outlook before knowing where he will land next.
