Mookie Betts Homers In Extra-Inning Win
6 years agoBoston Red Sox right fielder Mookie Betts finished 1-for-3 with a solo home run, three walks, and two runs scored in a 6-5, 13th-inning win over Toronto Wednesday. Betts' home run was a go-ahead solo shot in the 12th, before the bullpen blew the lead in the following half inning, only for Boston to win in the 13th. The 26-year-old now has eight homers on the year with 24 runs batted in. However, the highlight of Betts' season thus far has been his ability to simply get on base. He is tied for third in MLB with 35 walks and his .405 OBP pits him in the top 12 of the league as well. As the reigning American League MVP, Betts certainly isn't lighting the league on fire, so far this season, but he's providing quality play and in turn is still a top fantasy outfielder, rest of season.
