2 years agoChicago Cubs reliever Mychal Givens notched his first save of the season on Thursday as his club defeated the Rockies 5-2. The right-hander worked around a one-out single as he struck out a pair in the 17-pitch frame, throwing 12 of his pitches for strikes. Givens has now picked up a win, a hold, and a save in four outings this season with one run allowed and seven punch outs in 3 1/3 IP. David Robertson has picked up the only other save chances for the Cubs bullpen this year, but Givens could cut into more of his work if he can keep up the strong results.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
