4 years agoThe Colorado Rockies have reportedly acquired right-handed reliever Mychal Givens from the Baltimore Orioles, adding another name to come off the bullpen market ahead of the Trade Deadline. Givens had been with the Baltimore organization since it selected him in the second round of the 2009 MLB Draft, having compiled a 3.32 career ERA over 296 relief appearances. He has moonlighted as the club’s closer for two seasons, but remained firmly entrenched in setup duties this year with a 1.38 ERA across his first 12 appearances. It’s unclear if Colorado will immediately tab Givens with closer duties, but he does have 20 to his credit since the start of 2018.--Jesse Borek
