Myles Gaskin Could Thrive In Rotation
3 years agoMiami Dolphins running back Myles Gaskin is poised for a strong season regardless of whether Malcolm Brown and Salvon Ahmed play a role in 2021, according to Sheil Kapadia of The Athletic. There was initially some doubt about Gaskin's outlook after Brown thrived in Week 1 of the preseason, but Kapadia offers some faith in the Washington product. Last season, Gaskin logged 972 scrimmage yards and five touchdowns through just 10 games. "Is there a risk of a committee approach?" writes Kapadia. "Sure. But there's also upside. ... He averaged 1.84 yards per route run, which was second among running backs behind only Alvin Kamara. Even if Gaskin is part of a rotation, he should still see plenty of touches to be useful." Ultimately, with a current ADP that puts him in a low-end RB2 or high-end RB3 range, it's worth drafting Gaskin and deploying him as your FLEX on a weekly basis. He should have a significant role in a Dolphins offense that is expected to improve during Tua Tagovailoa's second pro season.
