Nate Hobbs Early Front-runner For Starting Job
3 years agoLas Vegas Raiders rookie cornerback Nate Hobbs is developing into a front-runner for a starting job, head coach Jon Gruden told the media over the weekend. The comments were made after the fifth-round pick out of Illinois recorded a first-quarter sack in Saturday's preseason victory over the Seattle Seahawks. The CB1 slot is currently open since veteran Nevin Lawson will open up the season serving a two-game suspension, leaving Hobbs and second-year corner Amik Robertson competing for the job. With early praise from Gruden, it is worth keeping an eye on Hobbs to see if he can nail down that starting role.
