Nate Lowe Being Called Up To Rays
6 years agoThe Tampa Bay Rays are calling up first baseman Nate Lowe on Monday to join the team in Kansas City. In 90 plate appearances this year for Triple-A Durham, Lowe slashed .300/.444/.543 with three home runs, 16 runs, 14 RBI and one stolen base. He also won minor league player of the year in 2018, hitting .330/.416/.568 with 27 home runs across three levels. Christian Arroyo will be optioned back to the minors in a corresponding move. With the injuries the Rays have dealt with in the infield, the left-handed hitting Lowe should see playing time at first base and designated hitter. He is a legitimate power-hitting prospect that should be an option in most mixed leagues.
