4 years agoTexas Rangers first baseman Nate Lowe broke out of his spring-long slump with two hits, which included a home run, on Saturday against the Seattle Mariners. Acquired from the Tampa Bay Rays last year, he was hitting just .160 with a BB-K of 2-11 before Saturday's game. The homer was his first of the spring although he'd shown some gap power with three doubles. The 25-year-old slugged 27 home runs in the minors in 2018 and another 23 homers split between triple-A and the majors in 2019. He appeared in 21 games last season and posted a 102 wRC+ with four homers. Lowe's main competition for the first base job in 2021 is Ronald Guzman. He's hitting .346 with three home runs in 26 at-bats.--Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
