4 years agoToronto Blue Jays manager Charlie Montoyo confirmed a report after Monday's game that their top pitching prospect Nate Pearson will start Wednesday's game versus the Nationals. That day marks the service time deadline, so the Jays will gain an extra year of control over the right-hander after he's brought up. Wednesday was also supposed to be the Jays home opener, but they will instead act as the home team and play in Nationals Park. Pearson is MLB's second-ranked right-handed pitching prospect, and undoubtedly has the repertoire to make an impact in the bigs right away.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
