2 years agoThe Boston Red Sox will activate right-handers Nathan Eovaldi (back) and Garrett Whitlock (hip) from the injured list before Friday's game against the division-rival New York Yankees, according to skipper Alex Cora. Eovaldi will pitch the series opener on Friday, while Whitlock will return to a bullpen role. Eovaldi was out for more than a month with lower back and hip issues, and he wasn't fully stretched out during his minor league rehab assignment, so he'll be a risky fantasy start against the first-place Yanks in his return. But the 32-year-old veteran should remain rostered in all formats, as he's returning to a 4-2 record, 3.16 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 72 K's over 68 1/3 innings across 12 starts.
