Nathan Eovaldi Holds Orioles To One Run In Victory
4 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi had a terrific outing in Thursday's series opener against the Orioles, as the right-hander went seven innings and gave up just one earned run in the contest. Eovaldi surrendered five hits and struck out six batters in the quality outing, as the only damage done against him came in the bottom of the seventh inning off of infielder Pat Valaika, who hit a solo home run after the Orioles were held scoreless through the first six innings. Eovaldi will carry a 2-2 record, 4.98 ERA and 1.31 WHIP into his next scheduled start against the Blue Jays in Buffalo early next week. Eovaldi has been the Red Sox most dependable starter as the midway point of the 2020 season approaches, making the veteran right-hander worth owning across standard fantasy formats.
