Nathan Eovaldi Hopes For Healthy Start To Season
6 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi makes his first start of the 2019 season on Friday against the Seattle Mariners. The 29-year-old has dealt with injuries and only has one season in his career where he's thrown more than 154 innings. Still, the Sox saw fit to award him with a four year, $68 million contract after Boston's World Series run. However, Eovaldi is confident and ready for a full, healthy season. In 21 starts with the Sox and Rays last season, he registered a 3.81 ERA with 101 K's and a .246 batting average against. As Eovaldi is prone to giving up the long ball, it’s of note that the improved Mariners are hot off a 12-run outburst on Thursday, including five home runs as a team. Eovaldi isn’t the worst DFS option for Friday but be wary of a similar outcome if his command struggles.
