Nathan Eovaldi Resumes Throwing

2 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi (shoulder) played catch on Wednesday and Thursday and might throw off a mound on Friday. He's progressing well since being placed on the injured list on Tuesday. The 32-year-old right-hander is recovering from right shoulder inflammation, which has kept him sidelined since Aug. 12. As of right now, it looks possible that he could return when eligible next weekend. Rookie Brayan Bello is filling Eovaldi's rotation spot for the time being. In 18 starts in 2022, Eovaldi has gone 5-3 with a 4.15 ERA (4.51 FIP), 1.26 WHIP, 96 strikeouts and 18 walks in 99 2/3 innings pitched. He should be stashed in the vast majority of fantasy leagues for the stretch run.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
