6 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi needed 96 pitches to get through five innings Wednesday night while allowing three runs on four hits, striking out three and walking four. The counting stats weren't pretty in this outing for the 29-year-old right-hander, but on the bright side he didn't get tabbed with a loss. Through two starts, he's allowed nine earned runs, four home runs and has a 1/1 K/BB. Add in a 55 percent hard-hit rate and Eovaldi is just getting slapped around the yard in the early going. The next time out Eovaldi will be back in Fenway Park against the Toronto Blue Jays, and he'll need to keep the ball in the yard against a sneaky powerful lineup.--Steve Janik - RotoBaller
