3 years agoBoston Red Sox right-hander Nathan Eovaldi allowed three runs over five innings in a 6-5 loss to the New York Yankees on Opening Day. Eovaldi struck out seven and walked one in the 11-inning loss to New York. The veteran hurler tossed 76 pitches, 56 of which went for strikes in his 2022 debut. Two of the three runs Eovaldi allowed came via the long ball as Anthony Rizzo hit a solo shot in the first inning and Giancarlo Stanton added a solo homer of his own in the fourth. Eovaldi will be back on the mound on Wednesday against the Detroit Tigers.--Matt T - RotoBaller
