Nathan MacKinnon Posts Four Points, Avalanche Advance To Round Two
4 years agoColorado Avalanche forward Nathan MacKinnon posted two goals, two assists, four points, a plus-two rating and six shots on goal in Wednesday's 7-1 dominating victory against the Coyotes in Game 5 of the Western Conference first round series. MacKinnon's four-point performance capped off an incredible series for the 24-year-old superstar, who totaled a point in every single game for a total of three goals, seven assists, and 10 points in five games to lead his team to the second round of the Playoffs for the second consecutive season. Avalanche forward Nazem Kadri scored a pair of goals in the series-clinching Game 5 victory as well, wrapping up the series with five goals in five games. Goaltender Philipp Grubauer made 23 saves, improving to 4-0-0 against the Coyotes in the first round of the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Colorado Avalanche enter the second round in impressive form, and they will be lead by Nathan MacKinnon and company in the remainder of their Playoff run.
