3 years agoThe Washington Nationals are interested in bringing free-agent starting pitcher Anibal Sanchez back after his impressive showcase on Saturday. The 38-year-old right-hander received an offer 10 minutes after his showcase on Saturday, that's how impressive he was. Sanchez didn't sign a contract last year because he didn't think the offers he received were substantial enough. He pitched for the Nationals in 2019 and 2020, going a combined 15-13 with a 4.52 ERA and 1.37 WHIP while striking out 177 and walking 76 in 41 starts over 219 innings pitched. Sanchez really struggled in the shortened 2020 season to the tune of a 6.62 ERA and 1.66 WHIP in 53 innings, so fantasy managers won't be in any rush to add him if he is back in the major leagues in 2022.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
