2 years agoAs the Washington Nationals begin the process of trying to trade superstar outfielder Juan Soto before the Aug. 2 trade deadline, they want multiple major-leaguers and top prospects in return and also want to offload the bad contract of left-hander Patrick Corbin, according to sources. Corbin has two and a half years left on a six-year, $140 million deal he signed after the 2018 season. He's been the worst starter in the majors since the start of last year, posting a 5.84 ERA in 50 starts during that span. The 33-year-old southpaw has a partial no-trade clause, but it's not expected to hinder the Nats' chances of including Corbin in any Soto deal. Corbin has been bad again in 2022, going 4-12 with a bloated 5.87 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and 91 strikeouts in 99 2/3 innings.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
