6 years agoDesignated hitter Nelson Cruz has agreed to terms with the Minnesota Twins. Cruz, 38, will earn $14 million in year one of his new contract with a $12 million team option that includes a $300,000 buyout. Cruz is aging, but remains one of the better power hitters in the game. Cruz hit .256 with 37 home runs and 97 RBI in 144 games for the Mariners in 2018. It’s a nice pickup for the Twins and in a weak AL Central, Cruz should help the Twins contend right away.
