3 years agoTampa Bay Rays designated hitter Nelson Cruz went 3-for-4 with two RBI during Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Philadelphia Phillies. He hit a go-ahead two-run double in the eighth inning to give the Rays a 3-1 lead. It was his 17th double of the season. The 41-year-old was reinstated from the COVID-19 injured list and made his first career start at first base on Tuesday. Cruz continues to produce in 2021, slashing .275/.347/.520 with 26 home runs, 70 RBI, 59 runs scored, and three stolen bases over 452 plate appearances. Rays' first baseman Ji-Man Choi (hamstring), was placed on the injured list Tuesday; Cruz could gain eligibility at the cornerstone in some league formats.--Brad Camara - RotoBaller
