4 years agoMinnesota Twins designated hitter Nelson Cruz has seemingly found the fountain of youth for the shortened 2020 campaign. The multi-hit day that he produced Tuesday against the Pirates meant that the 17 hits he has notched through the team’s first 11 games makes him the first player 40 or older to have ever accomplished that feat. Entering the day, Cruz was tied with Aaron Judge for the Major League lead in RBI (14), while also sitting in the top 10 percent of all batters with a .441 wOBA. Following up on his career-best 19.9% barrels from last year, Cruz is off to a similar start in his possible MVP campaign by having produced 17.9% barrels through his first 10 games. At this stage, he is a cornerstone of season-long rosters.--Jesse Borek
