7 years agoSeattle Mariners designated hitter Nelson Cruz (ankle) has resumed baseball activities and is expected back in the lineup by the weekend, per MLB.com. Cruz sprained his ankle after slipping in the dugout celebrating a home run and was placed on the disabled list. Awful luck aside, Cruz had homered in two straight games before the injury and should be eager to get back. The top half of the Mariners lineup is playing fantastic right now and Dee Gordon and Jean Segura have been on base constantly. That is music to the ears of a run-producing veteran like Cruz. The offense will get a huge boost when he returns, and he needs to be in all lineups the moment he is inserted back into the Mariners lineup.--Joey C - RotoBaller
