Nelson Cruz Hits 35th Home Run
6 years agoSeattle Mariners designated hitter Nelson Cruz went 2-for-3 on Wednesday, including his 35th home run of the season. Cruz is slugging .510 over his last 15 games and .523 since the All-Star break. The Mariners playoff hopes are looking dim but the veteran slugger once again delivered another solid season. He will not play more than 150 games for the fifth straight season due to a series of different injuries. His numbers also took a hit this season by posting his lowest BABIP (.264) since 2006. Cruz will look to finish up the season strong and has a very outside chance at 100 runs batted in.
