Nelson Cruz Remains Out For Tuesday's Game
7 years agoSeattle Mariners designated hitter Nelson Cruz (foot, elbow) remains out of the lineup heading into Tuesday night's game against the A's. Cruz has been dealing with a sore foot and a bad elbow after being hit by a pitch on Saturday. It simply has been a hard-luck start to the season for the veteran slugger, who also spent time on the disabled list early on with a sprained ankle. When he has been on the field, the results have been less than ideal. Over his last 54 at-bats, he is hitting only .167 with a slugging percentage of .278. At this stage, the 37-year-old slugger simply needs to get healthy and get his rhythm back. He is capable of carrying an offense or a fantasy roster for weeks at a time and has posted a slugging percentage of at least .525 in every season since 2014. Once he returns, Cruz should be active in all fantasy formats.
