Nelson Cruz Launches 32nd Home Run On Friday
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays designated hitter Nelson Cruz went 1-for-5 with a solo home run during Friday's 4-3 win over the New York Yankees. In the top of the first inning, the 41-year-old blasted a solo shot off Nestor Cortes to give the Rays an early lead 1-0. It was his 32nd long ball of the season. "The Boomstick" is slashing .266/.336/.502 with 32 home runs, 86 RBI, 79 runs scored, and three stolen bases over 571 plate appearances in 2021. Cruz is one of the most consistent hitters in MLB and should be a middle-round pick in next season's drafts.
