Nelson Cruz Leaves Sunday's Game Early With Wrist Injury
6 years agoMinnesota Twins DH Nelson Cruz left Sunday's game against the Detroit Tigers after he injured his left wrist while swinging the bat. Cruz was removed for a pinch-hitter during the seventh inning after going hitless in three previous at-bats. The veteran hitter will reportedly go for an MRI on Monday. The Athletic's Dan Hayes tweeted on Sunday that the team will be "very cautious" with Cruz as they await the results of his MRI. Nothing is set yet, but a trip to the injured list is looking likely for Cruz. He is hitting .276 with seven homers and 22 RBI in his first season with the Twins.
