2 years agoWashington Nationals designated hitter Nelson Cruz (quadriceps) remains out of the starting lineup on Sunday against the Atlanta Braves. Cruz will miss his second straight game, and he'll finish the first half of the 2022 season with a .242/.324/.361 slash line with eight home runs, 48 RBI, 39 runs scored and three stolen bases in 351 plate appearances over 84 games played in his first year in D.C. The Nationals haven't given an indication that Cruz's injury is serious, so we expect to see him back in the lineup to start the second half. Maikel Franco is serving as the DH and is batting seventh on Sunday against Braves right-hander Spencer Strider. Franco does have eight homers in 319 at-bats this year, but he's hitting .153 (9-for-59) with three homers and eight RBI in 18 games over the last 28 days.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
