7 years agoSeattle Mariners designated hitter Nelson Cruz (back) remains out of the lineup Wednesday. Cruz was a late scratch on Tuesday due to what the team is calling "lower back tightness." It is a tough break for Cruz, who just was named American League Player of the Week last week, and he is white-hot right now. He has 10 home runs in the month of June and had overcome early-season injuries to regain his role as a top run producer in the Mariners lineup. It is unclear whether Cruz will need a trip to the disabled list, and he is listed as day-to-day right now.--Joey C - RotoBaller
