Nestor Cortes Goes Seven Strong Innings Thursday
2 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Nestor Cortes took advantage of a good matchup against the Cincinnati Reds Thursday, allowing just one run on four hits and a walk in seven innings. He struck out four batters and took a no-decision in the contest. Cortes has allowed more than three earned runs just three times this season, including in his most recent start against the Boston Red Sox. He now has a sparkling 2.63 ERA and 1.00 WHIP with 99 strikeouts in 95 2/3 innings this season. Fantasy managers who picked him up off the waiver wire early in the season continue to reap the rewards.
