New York Scratches Tomas Nido From Friday’s Lineup
4 years agoNew York Mets catcher Tomas Nido (foot) was scratched from Friday's Grapefruit League game against Miami after having fouled a ball off of his foot during batting practice Thursday. While X-rays came back negative, Nido is currently day-to-day. The Mets don't have a clear backup plan behind James McCann should Nido be sidelined for any period of time. McCann will be New York's primary catcher for 2021, with Nido having little fantasy intrigue due to his lifetime .197 batting average and sporadic playing time. Check back for updates on his availability over the coming days.
