NFL Appealing Deshaun Watson's Six-Game Suspension
2 years agoThe NFL is appealing for an indefinite suspension for Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson that would be a minimum of one year, according to sources. The NFL's appeal will also include a monetary fine, which is even more significant given the structure of Watson's contract. Disciplinary officer Sue L. Robinson gave Watson a six-game suspension on Monday after the investigation into 20-plus accusations of sexual misconduct from Watson. There's now a possibility that the NFL Players Association could file a federal lawsuit, depending on how commissioner Roger Goodell or an appointed designee handles the appeal, which would allow Watson to continue playing until it's heard in federal court.
