5 years agoDetroit Tigers right fielder Nicholas Castellanos was riding an eight-game hitting streak heading into Tuesday night's contest with the Orioles, but had that streak snapped with an 0-for-4 performance at the dish with three strikeouts. Over the previous streak, Castellanos had multiple hits in four of those eight games, and he's batting .355/.344/.581 over the last week. For a player many expected to break out this year, he's been quite unremarkable thus far and ranks near the middle of the league in both exit velocity and hard hit %, making it seem unlikely that he's going to suddenly turn the corner in terms of power production. The hot streak was nice, but we'd like to see much more consistency for the young slugger to be a real asset.--Tyler Germain - RotoBaller
