Nick Castellanos Has His Appeal Denied By MLB
4 years agoCincinnati Reds outfielder Nick Castellanos had his appeal for a two-game suspension denied by MLB on Monday. Castellanos was ejected and handed a two-game suspension following his role in an incident with the St. Louis Cardinals on April 3 where the veteran outfielder flexed after scoring a run. MLB called his actions "aggressive" and pointed out that he "instigated a bench-clearing incident." Castellanos was angry at the Cardinals after he had been hit by a pitch earlier in the inning and was actually seen walking away from the scrum of players after benches emptied. The Reds thought that Castellanos' appeal had a shot but he instead will likely begin serving the two-day suspension on Tuesday. Fantasy gamers counting on him will want to make other plans for the next handful of days.
