3 years agoCincinnati Reds outfielder Nick Castellanos (wrist) could be out longer than expected as a CT scan on Wednesday revealed that he has a microfracture in his right wrist, according to Bobby Nightengale of the Cincinnati Enquirer. Castellanos was hit by a pitch on his wrist on Friday, but initial X-rays did not reveal a fracture. He had only made one appearance as a late-inning replacement since that injury, and Nightengale now reports that Castellanos is unable to swing a bat currently. It's unclear just how long this will keep Castellanos sidelined, but it seems likely he'll be facing a stint on the IL as a result. While Castellanos is out, Tyler Naquin should receive the bulk of the playing time in right field.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
