3 years agoCincinnati Reds outfielder Nick Castellanos turned in a huge game in a 12-2 win over the St. Louis Cardinals in Game 2 of a Wednesday doubleheader. Castellanos went 2-for-3 with two homers, three runs, six RBI, and a walk in the lopsided win. The veteran outfielder ripped a two-run homer in the first inning and followed that up with a grand slam in the second frame. Castellanos' grand slam drew some concerns from the Cardinals dugout, with manager Mike Shildt asking the umpires to inspect his bat because he thought he saw a small chip at the end of the bat. The umpires determined that Castellanos' bat was not illegal and the grand slam was allowed to stand. The veteran outfielder is hitting .319 with 26 homers, 79 runs, 78 RBI, and two steals over 432 at-bats this year. He is now one homer shy of his career-high, a mark which was set back in 2019.--Matt T - RotoBaller
