Nick Chubb Could Win Starting RB Job
6 years agoAccording to ESPN.com's Pat McManamon, Cleveland Browns rookie Nick Chubb could win the starting running back job coming out of training camp. Many have expected veteran running back Carlos Hyde to open the season as the starter with Chubb spelling him as needed and possibly taking over in the second half of the season. According to McManamon, Chubb's time could come sooner rather than later. McManamon cited Chubb's work ethic and ability between the tackles as reasons he could overtake Hyde in training camp. The Browns signed Hyde as a free agent in March, but he could end up being one and done in Cleveland if Chubb shows well during the season. Third-down back Duke Johnson already has the pass-catching role locked up and shouldn't be affected regardless of whether Hyde or Chubb win the starting job.
